A lifelong baseball player, Collin grew up playing at Harundale Youth Sports League. He attended Glen Burnie High School where he made varsity as a freshman, starting at second base. The Gophers went on to win the Maryland 4a State Championship that year. Collin went on to play in a second State Championship game as a junior and reached a third State Semi-Final as a senior. As a senior he was selected to the Baltimore Sun All-County team as a second baseman.

Collin played a fall season at Alvernia College in PA before transferring to Frostburg State University (FSU) in Maryland. Collin excelled at FSU as a pitcher, recording 14.7 strikeouts per 9 innings and holding batters to a .237 average during his freshman season. That same year Collin was the game winning pitcher in the AMCC conference championship game, was named tournament MVP / AMCC Player Of The Week, and received the Academic All-Conference Team award.

Collin was selected to play for the Anderson Warriors in the MLB sanctioned Southern Collegiate Baseball League (SCBL) the summer after his freshman year. While playing for the Warriors Collin played under Major League greats Ivan Murrell and Pedro Borbon. Collin was also hired by Clemson University's head baseball coach Jack Leggett to work at the Clemson Summer Baseball Camp. Collin coached an elite team of 11 and 12 year old players from all over the country each week throughout the summer.

Forgoing an opportunity to play baseball at Clemson, Collin returned to Frostburg State. Entering into his second season at FSU he was named National Pitcher to Watch by Collegiate Baseball. Collin pitched another season at FSU posting a 2.88 ERA, 12.6 ks per 9 innings, and holding batters to a .174 average. That year he was selected to play in the SCBL and also the Alaska Baseball League before being sidelined by an arm injury that finished his playing career.

After college, Collin coached baseball at Long Reach High School for five years, coaching one year of JV and four years of Varsity. He also played baseball in the Chesapeake Men's Senior Baseball League. He gave up both to coach his son and daughter in youth sports.

Collin has been coaching youth baseball at EYO for the last eight years and youth softball for the last five. He developed a rec baseball team that won two consecutive championships, one at the 9/10 age group and the other at 11/12, and formed and coached a Sunday Select team and two tournament all-star teams. He also started the EYO Dubble Bubble Hurricanes rec softball team that won the 14U Howard County Alliance championship in 2024.

In the summer of 2022 he was selected to coach one of the three Hurricanes 12U travel teams. Collin is now entering his third year coaching that team.
